Marinas and moorings
Marinas and moorings We are keen to hear any comments about marinas outside Solent waters. If you have visited a marina or found a mooring that you have particularly enjoyed and are happy to share with the Dehler community please email. Your comments will help some of us with our passage plans and thoughts for future cruises.
Marina Portimao We have had our Dehler 43 " Clavileno " based in Marina Portimao for the last 3 winters. We have also met a Dutch owner of a similar boat "Searose" who has now taken the option currently available to purchase a 30 yr.lease on his berth. We have both enjoyed Portimao as a base for cruising the Algarve & Spanish coastline to Gib Barry & Dot Searle,Falmouth Burnham Yacht Harour We have been berthed at Burnham Yacht Haven for over a year now and we are very happy with the facilities here. We have day trips to see the seals anchored at Buxey No 1 when the tide is low or we can travel up the Crouch to Fambridge and beyond if the water is high (we have a 1.9mt draft deep keel Dehler 34 so it can be exciting!) or again if the water is high we can choose to go up the Roach beyond the moorings. For a weekend away we have Bradwell, Brightlingsea or, a bit further afield we can take in Ramsgate in the South or Shotley or Levington to the North which are within an easy days sail there and back. On top of this we are only an hour from central London where we live, by car or train with direct routes for both. Rob Parkinson, London
